Practicing Nonstandard Measurement
Our curriculum's measurement lessons are a bit dry. So I added this one as a math center. The kids get the practice & seem to enjoy it more than some of the suggested lessons. They simply measure various objects using paper clips. We also practiced measuring using feet, people, sticks, etc...They really enjoyed seeing how many "Ashleys" or "Matthews" long something was. I just took pictures of various objects of all lengths & then inserted the pictures into microsoft word, added word art & taaa daaa.
